In the digital age, the piggy bank needs to be rethought. How do you transfer its familiar, centuries-old form into a smart IoT device for children so that they understand at first glance what it is, what it can do, and how to operate it?
myPiggy is much more than just a piggy bank to put money in. It makes learning to save a child‘s play and modern while keeping the iconic shape and integrating new smart and digital features. Meaningful, playful elements and the accompanying app get kids ages 6-12 excited about saving money and help young parents with financial education in an increasingly cashless world.
A high-quality feel and details such as a round LED color display the design of myPiggy. UX and UI are optimized for ease of use. The nostrils become a USB power bank, and the pigtail can be twisted out to withdraw money. There are now cables to get in the way, thanks to inductive charging. The control electronics and battery disappear into the base. The optional app on the parental smartphone is used for in-depth interaction, e.g., counting games, alarm function, and sleep mode. The connection with online banking accounts allows parents to create savings wishes with their children and track progress on myPiggy‘s display. When a goal is reached, myPiggy grunts with delight.
